COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

At TressCox, we are deeply committed to contributing to the community.

We have a substantial pro-bono budget and take pro-bono referrals from the Public Interest Law Clearing House (PILCH) in both NSW and Victoria.

PILCH was established in 1994 by the Public Interest Advocacy Centre in partnership with the NSW Law Society and the NSW Bar Association. In Victoria, the partnership is between the Law Institute Victoria and The Victorian Bar.

PILCH coordinates the legal profession’s pro-bono work in cases of public interest. It aims to improve access to legal services for individuals or non-profit organisations in legal matters that are in the public interest. It also aims to improve and coordinate the performance of pro-bono work by the legal profession.

The majority of the firm’s pro-bono budget is dedicated to referrals from PILCH.

The firm has a partner in charge of pro-bono matters. This role is currently filled by Tim Unsworth. If you have a request for the firm to accept a pro-bono matter, please contact us by sending an email to tim_unsworth@tresscox.com.au
