Government Bank Guarantee Scheme – How Does it Apply (Newsflash)

Australian financial institutions have been dramatically restricted from accessing funding in international wholesale funding markets - with potentially serious implications for liquidity and lending activity.

In response to these pressures, the Prime Minister recently announced a Government guarantee of the deposits and wholesale funding of Australian deposit-taking institutions.
